Sunscreen & light filtering

The simple elegance of rollershades is compatible with most contemporary architectural styles and white-collar work environments. Rollershades also support building-wide design unity, because you can specify the most appropriate fabric for each space.

For rooms and areas where sun and bright natural light have the potential to interfere with occupant comfort, Luxaflex sunscreen or light filtering rollershades are a practical and aesthetically-pleasing choice.

Benefits:

  • Sunscreen fabrics have an open weave that softens bright light, screens UV and minimises heat gain. Some sunscreen fabrics are see-through, so room occupants can still enjoy the view.
  • Light-filtering fabrics are available in a range of opacities, colours and textures. They allow natural light to enter the room, but maintain privacy.
  • For appropriate shading around the clock, windows can be fitted with dual rollers. For example: one sunscreen, one blockout.
  • Automation can be integrated into building management systems and applied to single shades or groups of shades, with remote control or wall-switch controls.

Fabrics

Light filtering fabrics are translucent. They filter natural light and provide privacy. This combination of benefits is useful when spaces are at ground level or in close proximity to other buildings. Woven sunscreen fabrics provide light and heat control that’s based on the fabric's openness factor and colour. The most open weaves allow occupants to see the view. Single roller sets

Roller sets that hold a single shade are ideal for commercial and hospitality environments that require just one form of shading - sunshade, sun filter or blockout. Sets can be specified according to the width of glass you need to cover and special requirements, such as individual control, best positions for control chains and up/down configurations for sliding doors. Operating Systems

Luxaflex rollershades can be manually operated with a chain drive or chainless spring motor. They can be automated using the wireless Q-motion system or a traditional hard-wired system. Child safety devices can be fitted to manual chain-drive blinds.

Automation

Automation

Luxaflex Rollershades can be automated, so you can raise or lower your window coverings with the touch of a button. There are two ways to do this. The first way is by using traditional hard-wired automation with a remote control or wall switch. The second way is by using Q-motion wireless automation, which uses ordinary ‘D’ batteries within the roller tube. Shades can be raised and lowered using a remote control or with an iPhone or iPad application.

Manual control options include the classic standard chain drive or a chainless spring motor.Easy to operate, chain drive allows you to raise and lower your blinds using a chain from either side and can be face fitted or in-reveal mounted. Chains are available in colours and metal options. Child safety is a critical issue that we have addressed with specific safety devices, such as child safe tensioner devices to eliminate the risk of strangulation on cords. Please talk to your Luxaflex consultant about ways to make rollershades safe for young children.
